About Stephen Tetzner
With nearly three decades of experience and over $2 billion in overall mortgage volume, Steve Tetzner is a recognized leader in the mortgage industry. He was a founding partner of Homestar Mortgage located in Rhode Island, which he began with his father Carl over 25 years ago before joining forces with Mortgage Equity Partners.
Among his professional accomplishments, he was recognized by Top Agent Magazine as a Top Mortgage Professional in 2015 and has become a regular contributor to WPRI TV’s “Successful Living” segment. Steve was President of the RI Mortgage Bankers Association, serving on its Board of Directors for nine years. As chair of its Legislative Committee, on which Tetzner still serves, he drafted language regarding loan officer licensing and was instrumental in creating the landmark predatory lending legislation.

He is also on the board of the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center, which seeks to eradicate all forms of abuse in the state while providing comprehensive services to victims and education to the community.
